Costs up front

What it costs

There are three parts to the cost of a move. Your written quote covers the first two before any work starts.

  1. 1 Our fee

    For our work on your purchase, sale or remortgage. Your quote sets it out in writing before we start.

  2. 2 Outlays

    Costs we pay for you, such as searches and registration fees. We list every one in your quote.

  3. 3 Stamp duty

    Tax due on most purchases over £125,000, or £300,000 for first-time buyers. Use our calculator for a guide.

Questions about moving home

It varies, but it's often around 8 to 12 weeks from an agreed offer to completion. Chains and mortgage offers are the usual things that affect timing.

Yes. We'll handle both and keep them moving together, so the completion dates line up and you can move straight from one home to the next.

Our fee is for our work. Outlays are costs we pay on your behalf, such as searches and registration fees. Your quote lists both, so you know the full cost up front.

It depends on the matter, but we'll always give you a clear quote or estimate before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

Not always. Plenty can be done by phone and email, though you're very welcome to call in to see us on High Street.
